I've read more than 100 birth stories threw out my pregnancy and yours is by far the most amazing and encouraging.. I'm 37 weeks with my first baby and have absolutely fallen in love with the idea of a home birth. 1st off hospitals scare me and So do doctors lol. And 2nd I know our bodies were made to give birth. All of the crazy interventions they create is to juice you and to make it faster.. it's not about your baby's health it's about money. (IT'S SO SAD) I've convinced my husband for us to give birth at home ... pray for me. I'm so excited. I know everything is going to go great. Once again you're an inspiration!!! Thank you for sharing your birth story <3 Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02399271437946933081noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9025051323579333987.post-46176411193844392462017-03-24T22:23:32.442-05:002017-03-24T22:23:32.442-05:00I've probably read about 100 or more birth sto...I've probably read about 100 or more birth stories during my pregnancy, all types of them, and yours is by far the most beautiful... I'm having my first baby, I'll be 37 weeks in 2 days I'm so excited to have my little princess. I want to have her at home ... I believe that our bodies were created to do it perfectly... your story is such an inspiration, and it gives me alot of hope. God bless you and your beautiful family. A hospital is for sick people. There are more germs, of all serious, dangerous types, more than 3 feet off the ground, which is why hospital personnel wear their paper gear and shoe covers...to protect themselves...patients aren't so lucky and a Moma with broken waters has little chance of escaping without getting an infection. All hospital Momas should get ALL COPIES of their hospital records IMMEDIATELY following birth...especially doctor & nurse notes and psychological reports made on her. Your story is encouraging. Hopefully all people will some day learn as much, instead of refusing to even read a book to learn how they can be of help to their baby, in the birthing process. I have six children (all boys) and am due with my seventh child (gender unknown) in June. I've always wanted to give birth in a birthing center, but the one from our house was about 30 minutes away, which could be cutting it close. You inspired me to look into it again and surprisingly I found that a birthing center just opened up four months ago just 10 minutes away - I was thrilled! Your natural birthing process is such an inspiration!

I also homeschool and enjoy some of the many domestic activities that you enjoy. If you lived close by I would love to pick your brain (I guess I don't know where you live, but probably not North Carolina).

Thanks again for your posts. They truly are inspiring! :)aubreyphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10459423620825091316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9025051323579333987.post-89910779460098648872014-03-05T17:57:30.942-06:002014-03-05T17:57:30.942-06:00I can't convince my husband to let me birth at...I can't convince my husband to let me birth at home (our first baby's due in a month) so this time I've agreed to have a natural birth at the hospital. If I can manage it, I may "accidentally" stay home too long anyway. :) I fully trust in myself and my body, but his "what ifs" are becoming contagious, I'm afraid. He has one son who was delivered via "emergency" C-section, and that experience left him convinced that if they hadn't been at the hospital, mama or baby or both would've probably died. I've tried showing him how his ex was a victim of the doctor-induced "cascade effect" - she was hooked up to a monitor and an IV and had a very early epidural, forcing her to lie on her back for hours - but he still blames his son's "giant head" for all the problems. (His son was under 8.5lbs, with a normal head.)

If I could just get him to read some birth stories like yours (I've read the others too, that didn't require a password) maybe he'd get a better understanding of how wonderfully empowering it is to follow one's instincts through such an amazing experience. Where he sees safety, I see a bunch of strangers trying to poke and prod, and someone else's hands holding my baby before I do. I'm wishing I hadn't agreed to the hospital, but it may be worse trying to stay home with a nervous husband fluttering everywhere.

Thanks for sharing your birth stories, I love reading about natural births and dreaming of my own!

- EllieAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9025051323579333987.post-38007341759989147832014-03-02T09:45:08.909-06:002014-03-02T09:45:08.909-06:00I loved reading your birth story. I've birthed five babies and the only one I've ever pushed was my first, because I didn't know any better. The other four were allowed to emerge at their own pace.
